Set the idle CO to 0.1 to 0.3% at the specified idle speed (750 RPM) by adjusting the idle speed adjusting screw No.1 (SAS-1) and the idle
mixture adjusting screw (MAS), (Figure 16).

Reconnect the exhaust oxygen sensor.
8.
Reset the engine idle speed to specs if necessary.
9.
Run the engine at 2500 RPM in neutral for 30 seconds and then record the tailpipe CO reading at 2500 RPM.
10.
If the CO reading is 1.2% or less move to step 11. If the CO reading is still greater than 1.2%, the carburetor must be replaced at this time. Skip
steps 11 through 14 and proceed to Section J.
11.
Turn off the engine, disconnect the tachometer and remove the analyzer probe from the tailpipe.
12.
Install the concealment plug into the hole to seal access to the idle mixture adjustment screw.
13.
Reinstall the air cleaner assembly.
14.
Move to Section K.
J. Replace Carburetor (Only For Continued High CO Level)
1.
Replace the carburetor per Service Manual procedure using carburetor Part No. MD997198 - Colt Vista 4WD w/Manual Transmission.
NOTE:
Do not install a Choke Shim on the new carburetor.

Important: Transfer the new primary air bleed jet previously installed in the old carburetor to the new carburetor following the procedure covered
in Section C.
3.
Check and adjust the idle speeds as required.
4.
Disconnect the tachometer and remove the analyzer probe from the tailpipe.
5.
Reinstall the air cleaner.
K. Install Hose Routing Label
1.
Locate the hose routing label on the underside of the hood as shown in Figure 17.
2.
Remove all dirt from the old label.
