Ball Joint: Service and Repair
LOWER BALL JOINT
Ball Joint & Lower Control Arm are replaced as an assembly.
1. Remove stabilizer bar to lower control arm attaching bolts, then the strut bar to lower control arm attaching bolts.
2. Loosen ball joint stud, then disconnect ball joint from knuckle.
3. Remove lower arm from No. 2 crossmember. Ball joint dust cover must be replaced during installation.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Torque lower control arm attaching bolts to 87-108 ft. lbs. and ball joint attaching nut to 43-52 ft. lbs.
