Heater Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Place temperature control lever in warm position, then drain cooling system and disconnect heater hoses.
3. Remove instrument panel, refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Panel/Service and Repair.
4. On 2WD models, remove absorber bracket.
5. On all models, remove heater duct, then disconnect temperature control air and mode selection wires.
6. Remove heater unit.
7. Remove water valve link, joint hose clamps, joint hose and screws from heater unit, then the heater core from heater unit.
