Wiper Switch: Service and Repair

FRONT

NOTE:  The combination switch includes the headlight, headlight dimmer, turn signal and wiper/washer switches.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering wheel, refer to Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair.
3. On Colts  remove knee protector.
4. Remove upper and lower column covers.
5. Remove wiring harness retaining straps, then disconnect electrical connectors.
6. Remove attaching screws, then the combination switch assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install.

REAR

1. Insert suitable tool behind switch garnish, compress lock tab and pry switch and garnish assembly from instrument panel, taking care not to mar

garnish or instrument panel.

2. Disconnect electrical connector and remove switch.
3. Reverse procedure to install.
