Fuel Supply Line: Description and Operation
Fuel, Return And Vapor Line Components
FUEL SUPPLY LINE
The fuel supply line delivers fuel from a high pressure electric fuel pump (mounted in the fuel tank), to the in-line fuel accumulator From the
accumulator to the in-line fuel filter. It is then delivered to the fuel pressure regulator mounted on the fuel rail. The line is of steel construction and is
fitted in place with conventional threaded pressure fittings.
Fuel Rail, Injectors, Fuel Pressure Regulator And Components
FUEL RAIL
The fuel rail is a metal tube with threaded fittings, that forms a connection between the fuel supply/return hoses, the Fuel Pressure Regulator and the
Fuel Injectors. It is located on top of the engine. The fuel rail serves to deliver fuel to the injectors and helps stabilize fuel pressure at the injectors.
FUEL RETURN LINE
The fuel return line delivers routes fuel directly from the return outlet on the fuel pressure regulator to the return inlet on the fuel tank. The line is of
steel construction and is fitted in place with conventional fuel hoses with clamps.
