SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Rear disc brakes squeak during stopping.
DIAGNOSIS
Road test vehicle to verify condition. Before proceeding with repair, be sure to check for other sources of noise as outlined in the Trouble Shooting List
on page 5-5 of either the 1984 or 1985 Conquest Service Manual, publication #81-270-5013 or #81-270-6012.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
This procedure involves the replacement of the original disc brake pads with a new design pad and shim set which reduces the tendency to squeak.
NOTE:
THIS PROCEDURE APPLIES ONLY TO CONQUESTS BUILT BEFORE MARCH 25, 1985 WITHOUT AN INTERCOOLER,
OR BEFORE FEBRUARY 25, 1985 WITH AN INTERCOOLER.
1.
Refer to the Brake Pad Replacement Procedure on page 5-25 of the appropriate Conquest Service Manual for removal of the brake pads.
2.
Remove and discard the original brake pads and outer shim.
3.
Install the new brake pads and rubber coated outer shim from the rear pad kit, PN MB500631, following the procedure outlined in the appropriate
Conquest Service Manual.
