Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering wheel as described under ``Steering Wheel, Replace.''
3. On models equipped with tilt column, remove lock plate cover and lock plate.
4. On all models, remove lower instrument panel bezel.
5. On Diplomat, 1982 New Yorker, Gran Fury, and 1983 New Yorker Fifth Avenue and 1984---88 Fifth Avenue models equipped with tilt column,
remove gear shift indicator, then the two steering column to lower instrument panel reinforcement retaining screws. Remove mounting bracket
from steering column.
6. On all models, unsnap four plastic retainers and remove wiring through steering column.
7. Disconnect light blue wire connector, then remove turn signal lever attaching screw and allow lever assembly to hang loosely from column.
8. Remove turn signal/hazard warning switch attaching screws, then pull switch from steering column, while carefully guiding wires up through
column opening.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
