Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

1.

Remove master cylinder retaining nuts, then carefully slide out master cylinder from power brake and allow it to rest on fender shield.

2.

Disconnect vacuum hose from power brake.

3.

From under instrument panel, disconnect push rod from brake pedal. On linkage type power brake unit, also remove lower pivot retaining bolt.

4.

Remove power brake retaining nuts and remove power brake unit.

5.

Reverse procedure to install.
