The following corrections should be made to the 1985 Rear Wheel Drive Passenger Car Service Manual, publication #81-270-5001. These corrections
reflect changes in the ignition timing, solenoid idle speed and idle rpm adjustment, fast idle speed adjustment, and propane assisted idle set procedure
which should be made in your service manual.

Page 8-77 -IGNITION TIMING

Step (4) should read:

Disconnect and plug vacuum line at ESA unit, start engine, set parking brake, place transmission in neutral, and run until normal operating temperature is
obtained.

Step (11) should read:

Turn the engine off. Unplug and reconnect vacuum line at ESA unit. Remove the jumper wire (if installed) and tachometer.

SOLENOID IDLE SPEED AND IDLE RPM ADJUSTMENT (6280 MODELS)

Before checking or adjusting any idle speed, check ignition timing and adjust if necessary using the procedure shown in Group 8 Electrical. Disconnect
and plug the vacuum hose at the EGR valve. Disconnect and plug the hose from the carburetor at the heated air temperature sensor. Remove air cleaner
and disconnect and plug the canister purge hose at the canister. Remove the PCV valve from the valve cover and allow the valve to draw underhood air.
Disconnect and plug the vacuum advance at the ESA unit. Install a tachometer.
