SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Momentary lack of engine power during heavy throttle acceleration.

DIAGNOSIS:

Use the DRB II to check for fault messages. Fault message; "Boost Limit Exceeded" will be in memory in the onboard diagnostics.

Vacuum Connector

PN 5277577

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This condition is likely caused by a vacuum leak at the wastegate solenoid connector which allows the engine to go into an overboost condition. The
repair procedure consists of replacing the existing vacuum hose connector with the new service parts unit listed above. This new connector reduces the
chance of vacuum leakage.

1.

Remove the three port connector from the wastegate solenoid. The wastegate solenoid connector is the one with the blue dot on it.

2.

On passenger cars, remove the filter, the nylon tube and connector/cap assembly from the old connector. On minivans, remove the filter,
connector/hose assembly and connector assembly from the old connector.

3.

Using the new service parts connector PN 5277577, reinstall the filter in the bottom hole, the nylon tube (or the connector/cap assembly) in the
center hole and the connector/cap assembly in the top hole.

4.

Reinstall the new connector onto the solenoid.

Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
