NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicle built prior to June 1, 1995 (MDH 0601 XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Blower motor whine in the Low or 2nd speeds. The whine does NOT exist in the 3rd, 4th or High blower speeds.
DIAGNOSIS:
Run the blower motor in the Low and 2nd speed, with or without the engine running. If the whine is heard, perform the repair procedure. A change in
pitch of the whine can be heard between Low and the 2nd speed.

Assembly, Blower Motor & Wheel
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the blower motor.
1.
Open the glove box door and disengage the clip holding the stop cord to the glove box door.
2.
Pivot the glove box door downward and disengage the hinge hooks from the instrument panel to remove the glove box door.
3.
Remove the blower motor cover.
4.
Disconnect the blower motor wiring connector.
5.
Dislodge the blower motor wiring grommet from the blower housing and feed the wiring through the blower housing.
6.
Remove the mounting screws for blower motor and allow the blower motor & wheel assembly to drop down. Remove the assembly from the
vehicle.
7.
Install revised blower motor & wheel assembly (P/N 4856992) by reversing the previous steps.
