Remove the crankshaft damper using Special Tool 1026 and Insert 6827-A or equivalent (Figure 4).
NOTE:
On JA/JX vehicles, the special tool must be removed from the damper before the damper can be removed from the crankshaft.

Remove the generator/compressor drive belt idler pulley.
