Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair
Replacement

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheel and tire assembly.
2. Remove brake hose bracket, then the speed sensor cable bracket.
3. Remove stabilizer bar link from bracket on strut assembly.
4. Remove two strut assembly clevis bracket to steering knuckle mounting bolts.
5. Remove three nuts mounting strut assembly upper mount to strut tower, then the strut.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Steering knuckle to strut assembly mounting bolts are serrated and must not be turned during installation. Install nuts while holding bolts

stationary in steering knuckles.

b. If strut assembly is attached to steering knuckle using a cam bolt, then bolt must be installed in lower slotted hole on strut clevis bracket. Bolts

should be installed with nuts facing front of vehicle.
