Torque Tube: Service and Repair
Torque Tube Bearing
1.
Remove overrunning clutch cover assembly, then drain fluid.
2.
Remove overrunning clutch case to rear carrier attaching bolts.
3.
Separate overrunning clutch case from differential case.
4.
Using suitable tool, remove overrunning clutch inner race snap ring, then remove inner race.
5.
Remove shaft snap ring ring, then slide clutch from shaft.
6.
Remove torque shaft rear bearing snap ring.
7.
Remove overrunning case to torque tube attaching bolts, then separate.
8.
Remove front snap ring and torque tube bearing shield.
9.
Slide shaft out of torque tube.
10.
Using suitable tool, drive bearing out of housing.
11.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque overrunning clutch assembly to torque tube attaching bolts, overrunning clutch assembly to differential
carrier and overrunning clutch case cover assembly to 250 inch lbs.
