Fig. 15  Exhaust Manifold Assembly. 2.0L/4-122 Turbo

Remove exhaust manifold in numbered sequence shown, noting the following:

1.

On 2.0L/4-122 turbocharged engine, drain engine oil and coolant prior to removing exhaust manifold. To drain coolant, proceed as follows:
a. Place instrument panel temperature control lever in Hot position.
b. Carefully remove radiator cap.
c. Remove radiator drain plug.

On all models, use oxygen sensor socket No. MD998703 or equivalent to remove oxygen sensor.

3.

On 2.0L/4-122 turbocharged engine, leave power steering hoses attached when disconnecting power steering pump. Position pump out of the
way and secure with a piece of wire.

4.

On all models, reverse procedure to install. On 2.0L/4-122 turbocharged engine, apply machine oil to inner surface pipe flare prior to installing
water pipe (18).
