Parking Brake Lever: Service and Repair
WARNING: THE AUTO ADJUSTING FEATURE OF THIS PARKING BRAKE LEVER MECHANISM CONTAINS A CLOCK SPRING
LOADED TO APPROXIMATELY 20 POUNDS. DO NOT RELEASE THE AUTO ADJUSTER LOCKOUT DEVICE BEFORE
INSTALLING THE REAR WHEEL PARK BRAKE CABLES INTO THE EQUALIZER. KEEP HANDS OUT OF AUTO ADJUSTER
SECTOR AND PAWL AREA. FAILURE TO OBSERVE CAUTION IN HANDLING THIS MECHANISM COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS
INJURY.
Remove
Shift Knob Attachment
1. Remove shift knob from shifter. Shift knob is attached to shifter using an allen head set screw. Access to set screw is from the front side of the shift
knob.
Shift Bezel Wiring Harness
2. Remove the shift bezel from the center console. Shift bezel is removed by carefully pulling upward along the edge until the retaining clips unlatch
from the center console.
3. Disconnect shift bezel wiring harness from vehicle wiring harness.
