Prowler V6-3.5L VIN G (1999)
Daytime Running Lamp Control Unit: Description and Operation
GENERAL INFORMATION
The DRL module provides daytime running lamp functions (for Canadian vehicles) through the front turn signal bulbs.
The DRL module is located on the outboard side of the left hand support bracket. Access is gained by removing three bolts on the left side service
panel.
SYSTEM OPERATION
In order to operate the DRL, the ignition circuit must be completed to the module.
With the ignition OFF, there is no current drawn through the module. With the ignition ON, the front turn signal filaments are illuminated steadily
thus providing the DRL function. The DRL function may be inhibited by applying a signal ground input from either the park brake circuit or the
headlamp relay activating circuit. The DRL is also inhibited if either turn signal or the hazard function is activated.
