Recall 99V245000: Brake Indicator Lamp Circuit

The brake system on these vehicles does not comply with FMVSS No. 105, "Hydraulic Brake systems." The brake indicator lamp circuit does not
contain the required ground circuit to illuminate the lamp in the event of a brake system hydraulic malfunction.

Dealers will attach a wiring jumper to the brake system pressure differential switch.

Owner notification began October 1, 1999. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the
free remedy within a reasonable time should contact DaimlerChrysler at
1-800-992-1997. Also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Auto Safety Hotline at 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
