9. Start roll pin into intermediate steering shaft coupler by lightly tapping it with a soft face hammer.
10. Install Roll Pin Installer, Special Tool 6831A through intermediate steering shaft coupler and roll pin. Using a wrench, hold threaded bolt on Roll
Pin Installer, Special Tool 6831A from rotating. Using a second wrench, tighten nut against sleeve of special tool. This will pull the roll pin into the
intermediate steering shaft coupler. Install roll pin until exposed end is flush with coupler.
11. Install wheels and tires.
12. Tighten the wheel mounting stud nuts in proper sequence until all nuts are torqued to half the specification. Then repeat the tightening sequence to
the full specified torque of 122 Nm (90 ft. lbs.).
13. Install the center cap on the wheel
14. Lower the vehicle.
15. Connect the battery (-) negative cable to battery negative post.
CAUTION: Do not use automatic transmission fluid in power steering system. Only use Mopar (R) Power Steering Fluid or equivalent.
16. Fill the power steering pump reservoir to the correct fluid level.
17. Start the engine and let run for a few seconds and then turn the engine off.
18. Add fluid if necessary. Repeat the above procedure until the fluid level remains constant after running the engine.
19. Raise the front wheels of the vehicle off the ground.
20. Start the engine. Slowly turn the steering wheel to the right and left, lightly contacting the wheel stops. Then turn the engine off.
21. Add more power steering fluid to the reservoir if necessary.
22. Lower the vehicle and turn the steering wheel slowly from lock to lock.
23. Stop the engine. Check the fluid level in the reservoir and add fluid as required.
24. If the fluid is extremely foamy, allow the vehicle to stand a few minutes and repeat the above procedure.
25. Check for leaks at all hose connections.
26. Adjust the front wheel toe in on vehicle. Refer to Alignment.
