Bell Housing: Description and Operation
Transaxle Bell Housing
The transaxle bell housing is an all aluminum design with a long input shaft supported by tapered roller bearings at each end. The bell housing acts as a
coupling device for the propeller shaft and the transaxle. The bell houses the drive flange, shaft, bearings and flex plate. The bearings are lubricated with
SAE 5w30 engine oil. Bearing preload is set and maintained by the use of a collapsible spacer.
