Remove governor assembly bolt (Figure 1).

NOTE:
BOLT IS TIGHT, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT A BOX WRENCH OR SOCKET WRENCH BE USED.

4.

Remove governor assembly and install new governor set, PN MD607474 (Figure 2).

5.

Install governor assembly bolt and torque to 36 to 42 inch pounds.

NOTE:
IF VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A 3-PORT THERMO VALVE, PROCEED TO STEP 11.

Drain coolant.

7.

Vehicles equipped with fuel reservoir will need to set it aside by removing the thermostat housing bolt that secures the reservoir.

8.

Remove coolant temperature sensor (2-wire) and temperature gauge sending unit (1- wire) to gain access to thermo valve.

9.

Remove connector from thermo valve.

10.

Remove thermo valve and replace with provided thermo valve, PN MD081274.

11.

Remove and discard existing carburetor secondary diaphragm hose.
