Brake Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair
Dual Function Pressure Switch
1.
De-pressurize the system as outlined in "De-Pressurizing Hydraulic Accumulator" under "Precautions."
2.
Raise and support vehicle.
3.
Disconnect wiring harness from dual function switch and boost pressure transducer.
4.
Remove dual function pressure switch using socket tool No. 6607 or equivalent.
5.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Clean area around dual function pressure switch port.
b. Torque dual function pressure switch to 9 ft. lbs.
c. With ignition switch in the On position, check for leaks at the dual function pressure switch.
d. De-pressurize the system a second time as outlined in "De-Pressurizing Hydraulic Accumulator" under "Precautions." This will purge any air
that may have entered the system when the switch was removed.
e. Turn ignition switch to the On position to pressurize the system. Road test to ensure system is operating properly.
