Load Compensator: Adjustments
Height Sensing Proportioning Valve Adjustment
NOTE: After installing a new height sensing dual proportioning valve, bleed both rear brakes.
1. Lift vehicle with a frame contact hoist or other means so that the rear suspension is hanging free and shock absorbers are fully extended.
NOTE: Leave wheels and tires on vehicle since extra weight will keep suspension in full rebound position.
2. Loosen adjusting lever assembly fasteners "A" and "B".
3. Push valve lever "C" towards valve until it bottoms on valve body and hold it there.
4. Rotate adjusting lever assembly away from valve until all free play has been removed from the actuator spring.
CAUTION: DO NOT stretch spring.
5. Tighten fasteners "A" and "B" to 150 + 25 in lbs (17 + 2.8 Nm) to secure lever assembly.
NOTE: Tighten fastener "A" riding in the slot first. This will secure the lever assembly in the proper position and minimize position change due
to tightening of fasteners.
