SYMPTOM/CONDITION
A driveway die out condition may occur after cold start up during engine run up.
NOTE:
THIS SERVICE APPLIES ONLY TO SUBJECT VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH CARBURETOR PART NUMBERS 4288522, 4288524, AND 4288525.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Remove and discard original PCV valve. Install supplied PCV Valve PN 4343581.
2.
Remove carburetor from engine.
3.
Disconnect choke operating rod lower end from the electric choke housing assembly.
4.
Loosen the three screws holding electric choke housing assembly to the carburetor main body.
5.
Remove electric choke housing assembly taking care to disconnect the fast idle link to the throttle lever.
6.
Remove idle mixture concealment plug at this time using the 1985 Front Wheel Drive Service Manual procedure on page 14-28.
7.
Install supplied Choke Housing Assembly, PN 4342935, making sure the fast idle link has been installed correctly. Tighten three screws held in
choke housing assembly.
Reinstall choke operating rod into rod retainer on fast idle cam lever.
8.
Check choke vacuum adjustment Reset to specification (.095") if necessary.
9.
Check choke cam index using the procedure below. Reset if necessary to .095".

Position fast idle adjusting screw on middle step of fast idle cam.
