ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
This adjustment requires the use of a new Miller Special Tool Adapter #C-4812-2C (Figure 1), which is installed over the knurled end of Miller Special
Tool #C-4812 (Figure 1).
NOTE:
ADD THE MILLER SPECIAL TOOL ADAPTER PART C-4812-2C TO FIGURE 5 ON PAGE 14-45 OF THE 1984 FRONT WHEEL
DRIVE VAN SERVICE MANUAL PUBLICATION #81-370-4010A.
Before checking or adjusting any idle speed, check ignition timing and adjust if necessary using the procedure outlined in Group 8 Electrical Section of
the 1984 Front Wheel Drive Van Service Manual publication #81-370-4010A.
1.
Set parking brake, turn off all lights and accessories, and connect a tachometer to engine.
2.
Start engine and allow to come to normal operating temperature, which can be determined by observing the radiator fan cycling once on then off.
When fan switches off, engine is fully warmed up. Fan should not be running during this adjustment procedure.
3.
Disconnect the vacuum advance hose at distributor diaphragm and plug hose.
