SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Transaxle whine when acceleration or during road load operation at 30-50 MPH. No whine is heard when coasting.
DIAGNOSIS
Road test the vehicle and listen for whine under the above conditions. If the whine is a smooth light tone, follow the repair procedure below. However, if
the whine is rough sounding and exhibits a cyclic noise variation, damper weight installation will not correct these conditions. It will be necessary to
diagnose and repair the transaxle per the appropriate service manual transaxle noise diagnosis.

1987 VEHICLES
A new left side drive shaft and damper weight assembly is required for 1987 model year vehicles.
