NOTE:
This recall applies only to the above vehicles built through May 17, 1993 (MDH 0517XX).
IMPORTANT:
Some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer used vehicle inventory. Dealers should complete this recall service on these vehicles before retail
delivery. Dealers should also perform this recall on vehicles in for service. Involved vehicles can be determined by using the DIAL VIP System.
Subject
The left (driver side) windshield wiper pivot on about 1,200,000 of the above vehicles may fail and cause both wipers to stop functioning. This can
impair the driver's vision and cause an accident without warning.
Repair
The left windshield wiper pivot must be replaced.

Wiper Pivot Assembly
Each dealer to whom vehicles in the recall were invoiced (or the current dealer at the same street address) will receive enough Wiper Pivot Assemblies to
service about 10% of those vehicles.
Special Tool Requirement
Miller Special Tool No. 8434 (Wiper Arm Removal Tool) is required for this service. All Chrysler/Plymouth and Dodge dealers received one (1) Wiper
Arm Removal Tool in March 2000 free of charge. Additional special tools may be purchased from Miller Tool. Additional tools are not reimbursable by
DaimlerChrysler.
Claims for vehicles that have been serviced must be submitted on the DIAL System. Claims submitted will be used by DaimlerChrysler to record recall
service completions and provide dealer payments.
Use the labor operation number and time allowance as shown:
Add the cost of the recall parts package (and if necessary, the right pivot and one or both wiper arms) plus applicable dealer allowance to your claim.
