Using a 1/2 inch diameter bit, enlarge the pilot hole to the same depth listed above.
15/16 INCH DIAMETER HOLE OF VARYING DEPTH
A.
Measure the depth of the 15/16 inch diameter hole, as measured to the drill tip location (Figure 5). Add 3/4 inch to that measurement. If the
total (added) measurement is less than 1-1/2 inches, deepen the existing 15/16 inch diameter hole 3/4 inch with a 1/4 inch bit (Figure 6).
If the total (added) measurement is in excess of 1-1/2 inches, deepen the 15/16 inch diameter hole with a 1/4 inch bit to a depth not to
exceed the maximum depth of 1-1/2 inches (Figure 6).
B.
Using a 1/2 inch diameter bit, enlarge the 1/4 inch diameter hole to the same depth determined for the 1/4 inch hole.
CAUTION:
THIS DRILLING OPERATION IS CRITICAL AND MUST BE PERFORMED PROPERLY. USE A DRILL STOP OR SIMILAR MEANS TO
PREVENT EXCESS MATERIAL REMOVAL (FIGURE 5).

USE SAFETY GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHILE PERFORMING THIS DRILLING OPERATION.
CAUTION:
DRILLING THE NUMBER 6 P/N BOSS IN EXCESS OF 1-1/2 INCHES WILL DAMAGE AN OIL GALLEY AND RESULT IN SEVERE
ENGINE DAMAGE.

Clean the oil pickup tube and any other areas that may have come in contact with drilling debris.

Clean the pan and block mounting surfaces. Apply a 1/8 inch bead of RTV Sealant P/N 82300234 to the parting lines of the chain case cover and
rear seal retainer where they meet the block and oil pan gasket. Install the oil pan and gasket P/N 05241062. Torque the pan bolts to 12 Nm (105
in. lbs.).
14.
Install transaxle inspection cover and bending brace.
15.
Install the splash shield.
16.
Lower the vehicle and add the appropriate amount of oil.
