NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO JUNE 20, 1996 (MDH 06-20-XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Powertrain Control Module software changes are being provided to correct the following conditions:
-
Some 2.4L equipped vehicles may experience an intermittent single engine miss, typically at low speeds and may result in stalls during idle, with no
related diagnostic trouble code DTC's.

4-2-4 gear hunting during cruise control operation on 2.4L equipped vehicles with 4ITE ATX.

Some 3.0L, 3.3L, and 3.8L equipped vehicles may experience erroneous EGR System (DTC 2E), Misfire (DTC's 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D, 6E, AE and/or
AF), Thermostat Diagnostic (DTC 21), and No EATX CCD Message (DTC 60) DTC's at cold ambient temperatures.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using the Mopar Diagnostic System (MDS) or the Scan Tool (DRBIII) and appropriate Diagnostic Procedure Manual, verify that all engine systems are
functioning correctly. If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) are present, record them on the repair order for future reference and repair before
proceeding. If the symptom described is still present perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software (calibration change).
NOTE:
MDS AND DRBIII ARE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING REPAIR. MDS MUST BE OPERATING WITH RELEASE 20 OR
HIGHER AND TIL 1115 OR HIGHER INSTALLED.
1.
Connect the MDS and DRBIII to the vehicle and power them up.
2.
Use the arrow keys and select # 2 MDS DIAGNOSTICS on the DRBIII MAIN MENU Screen.
3.
Use the arrow keys and select DIAGNOSTIC MENU on the MDS, then press NEXT MENU.
4.
Use the arrow keys and select CONTROLLER PROGRAMMING on the MDS, then press NEXT MENU.
5.
Use the arrow keys and select PROGRAM CONTROLLER PART on the MDS, then press NEXT MENU.
