Leaf Spring Replacement

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Support axle with suitable jack, then remove shock absorber lower bolts.

If bolts deflect upward during removal, raise axle by adjusting jack. If bolts deflect downward during removal, lower axle by adjusting
jack.

3. Raise and support axle assembly to remove axle weight from springs.
4. Remove axle plate bolts from springs.
5. Lower rear axle assembly, allowing rear springs to hang free.
6. Remove four attaching bolts from front spring hanger.
7. Remove rear spring shackle attaching nuts and plate, then shackle from spring.
8. Remove springs from vehicle.
9. Remove front pivot bolt from front spring hanger.

INSTALLATION

1. Assemble front spring mount to front of spring and install pivot bolt. Do not tighten.
2. Raise front of spring and install four hanger bolts, then tighten hanger bolts to specifications.
3. Install rear of spring onto rear spring shackle, then install shackle plate. Do not tighten.

4. Ensure lower spring isolator is in position, then raise axle assembly into correct position with axle centered under spring locator post.
5. Install axle plate bolts, then tighten axle plate bolts to specifications.
6. Install lower shock absorber bolts. Do not tighten.
7. Lower vehicle, then with full vehicle weight applied to axle, tighten front pivot bolt, shackle nuts and shock absorber bolts to specifications.
