Timing Cover: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Support engine and remove right engine mount.
4. Raise vehicle on hoist.
5. Drain engine oil.
6. Remove right wheel and inner splash shield.
7. Remove transaxle inspection cover.
8. Remove oil pan and oil pump pick-up tube.
9. Remove accessory drive belt.
10. Remove A/C compressor and set aside.

11. Remove crankshaft damper (Fig. 67).
12. Remove lower radiator and heater hoses from chain cover housing.
13. Remove idler pulley from engine bracket.
14. Remove coolant by-pass hose from chain cover housing.
15. Support the engine.
16. Remove the right side engine mount. Refer to Engine Mounts.
