Power Steering Fluid: Service and Repair
WARNING: FLUID LEVEL SHOULD BE CHECKED WITH ENGINE OFF TO PREVENT INJURY FROM MOVING PARTS.
CAUTION: Do not use automatic transmission fluid in the power steering system.
Before removing the power steering filler cap, wipe the reservoir filler cap free of dirt and debris. Remove the cap and check the fluid level on its
dipstick. The dipstick should indicate COLD when the fluid is at normal ambient temperature, approximately 21°C to 27°C (70°F to 80°F). Do not
overfill the power steering system. Use only Mopar Power Steering Fluid, or an equivalent.
