Measure the length of the gauge pin on the back of the door panel (refer to the illustration). Shorten the pin as necessary to assure that it does not
exceed 1/2" in length.

Reverse the procedure in step 1 to install the revised door trim panel.

The warpage of the carpet insert may not be immediately corrected. Normally, the carpet insert will take three to four weeks to return to
non-warped condition. If after three to four weeks the panel has not returned to the non-warped condition, replace the door trim panel. Be sure the
gauge pin on the back of the replacement panel is modified as described in step 2.

5.

Dealers should perform this repair on all in stock vehicles with a build date prior to 05/08/93 (MDH 0508XX) immediately to prevent warpage
from occurring.

6.

Dealers should also perform this modification to any service parts in stock.
