Brake Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair
Primary Pressure Transducer

Removal of the primary pressure transducer, does not require removal of the hydraulic assembly.

1. Depressurize hydraulic accumulator as outlined under "Hydraulic Assembly/Service and Repair."  See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock

Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Brake Fluid Accumulator/Service and Repair/Depressurizing Hydraulic Accumulator 

WARNING:Failure to de-pressurize the hydraulic accumulator, may result in personal injury, or damage to painted surfaces.

2. Drain fluid from reservoir.
3. Remove bladder accumulator as outlined under "Accumulator, Replace."
4. Remove high pressure fitting banjo fitting.
5. Using suitable needle nose pliers, remove three reservoir retaining pins from hydraulic assembly by compressing barbs on both side of retaining

pin.

6. Remove brake fluid reservoir from hydraulic assembly by carefully prying between reservoir and hydraulic assembly with a blunt pry bar.
7. Remove brake fluid level sensor from reservoir and remove reservoir from vehicle.
8. Remove hydraulic assembly connector from primary pressure transducer.
9. Using socket tool No. 6684 loosen and remove transducer from hydraulic assembly.

10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Install and torque transducer to 106 ft. lbs.
b. Replace sealing grommets between hydraulic assembly and reservoir.
c. Install three brake fluid reservoir pins using needle nose pliers.
d. Torque banjo fitting bolt to 10 ft. lbs.
e. Bleed brake system and check for leaks.
