Some 1985-88 6000 and Sunbird Wagons may experience a condition where the tailgate will not fully unlock from the remote release.

To repair this condition, a new latch assembly incorporating a heavier, stronger spring has been released. Part number 16604546 is available through the
Parts Department. Vehicles built after January 1988 have the new latch assembly incorporated.
