Compressor/Pump: Service and Repair
Air Compressor, Replace

Except. Cadillac, 1985 Electra, Park Avenue & 98, 1986---87 Cutlass, Cutlass Ciera, Toronado, 88 & 98 & 1987 Bonneville

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Deflate system through service valve.

3.

Disconnect high pressure line at air dryer by rotating spring clip 90° while holding connector end and removing tube assembly.

4.

If equipped with compressor mounted relay, remove two relay to compressor bracket screws and position relay aside.

5.

Remove support bracket screws.

6.

Remove two radiator support to compressor bracket screws.

7.

Disconnect electrical connectors from exhaust solenoid and compressor motor.

8.

Remove compressor and bracket assembly.

9.

Remove compressor mounting bracket screws and the mounting bracket.

10.

If replacing compressor assembly, remove air dryer and bracket.

11.

Reverse procedure to install. Moisten air line O-ring to facilitate assembly.
