Aztek V6-3.4L VIN E (2001)
Inspect the bottom side of the grey plastic support. A locating tab is on the left front position and a locating pin on the left rear position, down from
the attaching screw location.

Install the new assembly into position on the shifter. Position the locating tab and locating pin in the shifter assembly.
9.
Install the retaining screw above the locating tab, finger tight.
10.
Install the two right side retaining screws, finger tight.
11.
Slide the shifter handle back and forth while inspecting the location of the lever in the shifter slide opening. It should be centered the full length of
travel.
12.
Tighten the three screws in the following order. Right front, left rear, right rear.
Tighten
Tighten the (3) fastening screws to 2.00 N.m (18 lb in).
13.
Reinstall the console trim plate and insert the fastener.
Tighten
Tighten the fastening screw to 2.00 N.m (18 lb in).
14.
Reinstall the shifter knob and reinsert the retaining clip.
