CAUTION:Pressure bleeding equipment must be of the diaphragm type. That is, it must have a rubber diaphragm between the air supply and the brake
fluid to prevent air, moisture, oil and other contaminants from entering the hydraulic system.
Installing Bleeding Adapter J-29567
CAUTION:It is very important that the correct master cylinder bleeder adapter be used to avoid possible damage to the master cylinder reservoir.
1. Install bleeding adapter J-29567 to the master cylinder.
NOTE: The bleeder ball must be re-bled each time fluid is added.
2. Charge the bleeder ball to 20-25 PSI (140-173 kPa).
3. Connect line to adapter. Open line valve and depress bleed-off valve on top of adapter until a few drops of fluid appear.
4. Hoist car.
5. Attach bleeder hose to bleeder valve and submerge opposite end in clean container partially filled with brake fluid.
6. Open the bleeder valve 1/2 to 3/4 turn and allow flow to continue until no air is seen in the fluid.
7. Bleed the brakes in the following sequence:
a. Right rear
b. Left front
c. Left rear
d. Right front
8. Close the bleed valves. Be sure they seal.
9. Repeat steps 5 through 8 until all calipers have been bled.
10. Check the pedal feel for "sponginess" and repeat the entire procedure if necessary.
11. Dispose of all removed brake fluid.
