SUBJECT: 2nd Clutch Inner Lip Seal
Effective October 30, 1987, all THM 440-T4 transmissions are built using a 2nd clutch inner seal made of viton.
It can be identified by the number 8668074, molded to the lip of the seal. (See Figure)
When replacing the lip seals in the 2nd clutch it is recommended to install the viton inner seal on all model THM 440-T4 transmissions.
Part number 8662935 includes the viton 2nd clutch piston inner seal and a 2nd clutch piston outer seal.
