Water Pump: Service and Repair

TOOLS REQUIRED

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

^

J 36660 Torque Angle Meter

REMOVAL 

1. Engine coolant.
2. Electrical center and reposition.

3. Loosen water pump pulley bolts.
4. Drivebelt. 
5. Water pump pulley.
6. Power steering pump mounting bolts and reposition. 
7. Bolts from water pump.
8. Water pump. Clean Water pump mating surfaces.

INSTALLATION 

1. Gasket and water pump.
2. Bolts to water pump, tighten

a. Long bolts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
b. Short bolts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)

4. Power steering pump with mounting bolts. 
5. Drivebelt. 
6. Tighten water pump pulley bolts. Tighten bolts to 13 Nm (114 inch lbs.).
7. Electrical center in place.
8. Engine coolant. Inspect for leaks.
