Troubleshooting Hints - Chime

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS:

1. Check IGN/CHIME/CLUSTER Fuse by visual inspection.
2. Check FUEL DR REL/TRUNK PULL/DR DLK Fuse by visual inspection.
3. Check CTSY LP/PWR MIRROR Fuse by visual inspection.
4. Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage

check. (Refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures).  See: Diagrams/Diagnostic Aids

5. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may effect the integrity of other systems. (Refer to General

Troubleshooting Procedures).

Troubleshooting Hints - Reminder Package

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS:

1. Check I/P Fuse Block fuse ID, fuse 3E (Oldsmobile with UH8 or U2A cluster) and fuse 9C (Oldsmobile with UH8 or U2A cluster).
2. Check Relay Center fuse 8 (Oldsmobile with UH8 or U2A cluster only) by visual inspection.
3. Before component replacement, check for poor terminal contact at component and related harness connectors.
4. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
5. Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a

continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. (Refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures).  See: Diagrams/Diagnostic Aids
