Headrest Cover - Splitting/Loose or Separating

Headrest Cover Splitting, Loose, or Coming Apart (Replace Headrest Cover)

Models:
1993-95 Pontiac Bonneville 
with Seat Style AL7 or AS7

CONDITION
Some owners may comment that the driver or passenger headrest cover is spliting, loose or coming apart.

CAUSE
Headrest cover may lose retention allowing the "J" and "arrow" sections of the headrest cover to pop open.

CORRECTION
To repair this condition, replace the headrest cover with a new revised cover which allows for better retention when exposed to heat or high
temperatures. The new cover has 2 barbs on the "J" channel and a thinner "arrow" than the original headrest cover.

Repair procedure

1. Remove headrest from seatback. Refer to Section 10-10 of the Service Manual.

2. Remove headrest cover from headrest.

3. Install new headrest cover.

4. Install headrest to seatback.
