Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Service and Repair
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Electrical connector from Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.
2. Two idle air control valve screws.
IMPORTANT: Before installing new idle air control valve, measure the distance that the valve is extended. Measurement should be made from motor
housing to end of cone. Distance should be no greater than 28 mm (1-1/8 inch). If the cone is extended too far, adjustment is required or damage may
occur to the valve when installed. Adjust IAC by manually compressing the pintle to achieve the correct length.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New idle air control valve to throttle body. Use new O-ring gasket supplied with assembly.

Tighten IAC valve screws to 3.0 Nm (27 lb in).
2. Electrical connector to the idle air control valve.
3. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will reset the IAC whenever the ignition switch is turned "ON," and then "OFF."
4. Start engine and allow to reach operating temperature.
