Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor

NOTICE: Care must be taken when handling Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the
fuel injection system.

REMOVE OR DISASSEMBLE

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Drain radiator coolant.
3. Air induction tube.
4. Electrical connector.
5. Using a 19 mm deep socket and extention, remove sensor.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1

Coat threads with sealer.

2. Install sensor in engine.

Tighten to 30 Nm (22 ft lb).

3. Connect electrical connector.
4. Refill coolant, install air induction tube.
5. Negative battery cable.
6. Start engine and check for leaks.
7. Recheck coolant level.
