Power Steering Hose Routing And Orientation (Supercharged)
On non-supercharged engine vehicles, a finned cooler is part of the power steering gear outlet hose, as shown on illustration.
On supercharged engine vehicles, a cooling pipe is part of the power steering gear outlet hose, as shown on illustration.
Remove or Disconnect
1. Retainer and shield.
2. Clamps or connections at gear and pump.
3. If removing an outlet hose, do the following:

On non-supercharged vehicles, remove cooler mounting bolt and cooler.

On supercharged vehicles, remove cooling pipe retainer bolts, and unfasten clip.
4. Hose.
Install or Connect
1. Hose.
2. If installing an outlet hose, do the following:

On non-supercharged vehicles, install cooler and mounting bolt.
^
On supercharged vehicles, install bolts through retainers, and snap clip closed.
3. Clamps or connections at gear and pump.
4. Retainer and shield.
Tighten
^
Retainer, shield and cooler mounting bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb. in.).
^
Cooling pipe retainer bolts on supercharged vehicles to 7 N.m (62 lb. in.).
^
Power steering gear inlet hose to pump, to 27 N.m (20 lb. ft.).
^
Hose clamp at pump to 1.7 N.m (15 lb. in.).
^
Power steering gear outlet and inlet hose to steering gear, to 8 N.m (70 lb. in.).
5. Fill and bleed system.
