Valve Lifter Replacement - Left
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the left valve rocker arms.
2. Remove the Stationary Hydraulic Lash Adjusters (SHLA) from the bores.
3. Clean and inspect the valve lifters.
Installation Procedure
Important: Do not stroke/cycle the SHLA plunger without oil in the lower pressure chamber.
1. Fill the SHLA with clean engine oil GM P/N 12378006, or equivalent. Take precautions to prevent scratching the pivot sphere area (1) of the
SHLA.
