1984-87 FIERO MODELS WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION
Some 1984-87 Fieros with manual transmissions may exhibit a squeak or noise condition when depressing the clutch pedal. These squeaks can be
generated at one or more of the following locations:
1.
Clutch master cylinder push rod to clutch pedal attachment. This can be repaired by installing a plastic bushing in the master cylinder pushrod.
Part numbers and procedures in Pontiac Service Bulletin #86-7-24.
2.
Clutch pedal pivot bushing. This can be repaired by lubricating the pivot bushing as shown in Pontiac Service Bulletin #86-7-13.
3.
Master cylinder internal seal.
This repair will require replacing the master cylinder and the hydraulic fluid. (Use Castrol fluid, P/N 12345347) Master Cylinder, P/N
10079730.
4.
Rubber boot on master cylinder rubs against the push rod.

Grease master cylinder push rod with GM Paste Silicone Grease, PN 1052863 or an equivalent.
Use applicable labor operation number and time.
