Camshaft: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Drain oil pan and radiator.

3.

Remove radiator, fan and water pump pulley.

4.

Remove distributor, spark plugs and fuel pump.

5.

Remove pushrod cover and valve cover, then loosen rocker arms and rotate rocker arms off pushrods.

6.

Remove pushrods and valve lifters. Identify pushrods and lifters so they can be reinstalled in their original locations.

7.

Remove harmonic balancer and timing gear cover.
