Removing Rear Brake Hose Fitting
Parking Brake Cable Attachment
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
2. Parking brake cable at equalizer.
3. Install two wheel retaining nuts to retain rotor in position.
4. If caliper requires overhaul, remove hose fitting bolt (32), hose fitting and discard the two gaskets. Plug openings in inlet fitting and caliper to
prevent fluid loss and contamination.
5. Actuator lever return spring (4). Discard spring if coils are open.
6. Disconnect parking brake cable (35) from lever (5) and cable bracket (8).
7. Vibration dampener nut (41) and vibration dampener assembly (40) from parking brake cable bracket (8), if necessary.
8. Upper guide pin bolt (13). Remove lower caliper guide pin bolt (9), (only if removing caliper assembly from vehicle).
9. Caliper housing (14) from rotor assembly (39) and anchor bracket (17).
NOTE: If caliper overhaul or replacement is not required, hang caliper housing (14) from suspension to avoid damage to brake hose assembly.
10. Inner and outer pad assemblies (29 and 30) only if they are being replaced or if anchor bracket (17) is being removed.
