Audible Warning Device: Component Tests and General Diagnostics

The Audio Alarm Module generates a chime for: Lights "ON" Warning, Ignition Key Warning and Fasten Seat Belt Warning.

Lights "ON" Warning:
The Audio Alarm Module will sound the Lights "ON" Warning when it senses both the following:
1. No voltage at the Ignition Switch Input.
2. Voltage at the Lights On Input.

To enable the Lights "ON" Warning the following conditions must be met:
1. The Ignition Switch is "OFF," "LOCK," or "ACCY." (This removes voltage from the Ignition Switch Input.)
2. The Headlight Switch in "HEAD" or "PARK," applying voltage to the Lights "ON" Input.

Ignition Key Warning:
The Audio Alarm Module applies will sound the Ignition Key Warning when it senses both the following:
1. A voltage drop at the Ignition Key Input.
2. No voltage at the Ignition Switch Input.

To enable the Ignition Key Warning the following conditions must be met:
1. The key in the Ignition Switch. (This closes the Ignition Key Warning Switch.)
2. The Ignition Switch in "OFF," "LOCK," or ',ACCY." (This removes voltage from the Ignition Switch Input.)
3. The LH Door must be open. (This closes the LH Door Jamb Switch.)

When the key is in the Ignition Switch and the LH Door is open, a ground path is created to the Ignition Key Input.

Fasten Belts Warning:
The Audio Alarm Module will sound the Fasten Belts Warning for 5 to 8 seconds and illuminate the Fasten Seat Belt Indicator when it senses
both the following:
1. A voltage drop at the Seat Belt Input.
2. Voltage at the Ignition Switch Input.

To enable the Fasten Seat Belt Warning and Fasten Seat Belt Indicator the following conditions must be met:
1. The Ignition Switch in "RUN," "BULBTEST," or "START." (This applies voltage to the Ignition Switch Input.)
2. The LH Front Seat Belt unlatched. (This closes the Seat Belt Switch creating a ground path to the Seat Belt Input.)

If, however, the LH Front Seat Belt is latched before the Ignition Switch is turned to "RUN," "BULBTEST," or "START" the Fasten Seat Belt
Warning will be disabled, and the Fasten Seat Belt Indicator will not illuminate. If the LH Front Seat Belt is unlatched, the Fasten Seat Belt
Indicator will remain "ON" until the Seat Belt is latched.
